Denise's Story
Life
Well, lets see. Since 1980, I have seen several of you at our class reunions. But, here is what has been going on in my life or the short version of it any way. We graduated in 1980, I met my first husband Michael Wilson in September of that year and we married the next August. We had two beautiful children Laura (21) and Johnathan (20). Unfortunately our marriage wasn't as beautiful. We seperated in 1988, Laura was in kindergarten. I dated several guys after my divorce but only two seriously. Then, I met my second husband (Gary)in 1990. We dated for almost 10 years and we finally married on September 22, 2002. We live in Philadelphia Tennessee where I built a house about 1 1/2 years before we married. Gary and I do foster care for a therapeutic foster care system. We really enjoy doing that. It gives us a chance to be a positive influence on children's lives who have not had that for one reason or another. We are also very active in our church where I have gone all of my life. I enjoy working around my house, in the garden, planting trees, flowers, plants and yes even vegetables. We have two miniature schnauzers that rule our household, their names are Tuxx and Tarra. My human children are grown but, thes...Expand for more
e are our babies now. I have 4 nieces and 1 nephew and I have a great-niece and a great-nephew due in November 2003. Life is good for me and God has been soooo wonderful. I give him all the praise and glory for all I have.
Workplace
When we got out of high school, I went to work for Daniel Construction Company when they were in Loudon building AE Staley. After that I worked for the Loudon County News-Herald for almost seven years, I then went to work for a consulting engineering firm in Knoxville, when I got laid off there, I was hired in Loudon for a metal distribution facility (Lockhart Aluminum, Vincent Metal Goods, Integris Metals) same company just sold and merged several times, it was almost confusing!!! It was a great job and I really enjoyed what I did. I was inside sales and marketing. I got to travel some but mostly stayed in the office and sold metal. I met alot of interesting people while I was there. I worked there for over seven years. After the last merger corporated decided to transfer the sales department to the Nashville office. I am now the Office Manager for a coin operated amusement company in Lenoir City. I only work part time and I love it. I come into work at 10 a.m. and get off at 3 p.m.
