Dennice's Story
Life
Hi Classmates,
Most of us will be turning 57 this year. I'm doing good, healthy, happy and married to the same man now for 35 years. I'm still modeling and teaching massage therapy and water aerobics. My kids are grown so we are experiencing the empty nest and we are really enjoying it. I have not been back to Bellevue for a long time. I always like to tour through Bellevue High and look around. I have lots of good memories there. Dan and I have taken up playing the native American flute. We like to travel. Dan and I are outdoor people and really have an appreciation for beautiful nature. I've lived several places but I always miss the beauty of Bellevue. I have so many good memories there and my grandmother is buried at the Bellevue Cemetery.
School
I had many fine teachers that inspired me. I really enjoyed Mr.Arn in Marketing. I always felt grateful that the different groups of students were nice to me. Dorks, nerds, jocks, hippies etc. I enjoyed school and I enjoyed my friends at school. My friends were all sizes, colors and back grounds. I had to work through high school (parents were divored) If I could do it all over again, I would have done more school activities. I think I made up for it with my children, Ryan & Danni Rae. I was home room mom for them every year and was very i...Expand for more
nvolved. My youngest now has graduated from college and is in the master's program. I'm still her homeroom mom.
College
I lived with my dad in Rapid City when I went to college at South Dakota school of Mines & Technology. I dated Dan all during college and then we moved to Midland and San Angelo, Texas in 1978, I married Dan in San Angelo, Texas in 1979. I enjoyed my Humanities class. I really enjoyed when our Professor would hold class outside under a tree when the weather was nice. I remember all the fun I had in Freshman Psychology 101.
Dan was always doing things for the Geology museum at SDSMT and I was there with him. We hunted for sharks teeth and found a bunch. Dan made me a sharks tooth necklace that I still wear to this day. Dan and I both are volunteers for the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Workplace
My first job was babysitting and then I worked at the Ramada Inn when I was 16. Drycleaners when I was 17. I had several jobs here and there while growing up. I thought raising my 2 children was my best job. I've modeled for many years and have been teaching water aerobics since 1983. I teach massage therapy at Lone Star College System (the school's name changed January 08 from Tomball College) and have been there for years. I love my job, the other instructors and the campus.
