Dennis's Story
Let's start this at the beginning. In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth... maybe a little more recently than that. Fall of 1982, I started Penn State at McKeesport planning to do the dual degree road, psychology and engineering. Met a lot of great folks, drank far too much, and spent 3/4 of my time there spinning records at the campus radio station. Needless to say after five semesters, I dropped out.
Then I went to work and soon discovered work sucked. So, I went back to school this time to Triangle Tech eventually receiving an AST (Associate in Specialized Technology) in Mechanical Computer-aided Drafting and Design which, by the way, has never furthered me on my employment path. So, I became a student at the University of Phoenix, Pittsburgh Campus with my eyes set upon getting a BS in Management. Why management? Don't rightly know, but here I ended in school again. Two years of college, two years of technical school, four years of trade school, and back to college for two more years where I finally received a BS, and that ain't no BS either. I am now highly educated and the world is my oyster though I shan't consume it raw. Lobster would be better, so the world is my lobster - a big fat lobster smothered in butter.
Worked a wide variety of jobs from management to w...Expand for more
arehousing ending with me at my two current jobs. A machinist is what I am full-time and I was also a substitute instructor in an machine shop apprenticeship program though the program unfortunately came to an end due to lack of interested. So, I am a machinist that is in training to sell insurance, mutual funds, annuities, etc. for idle hands are the Devil's crabpot... hhhhhhhhmmmmmm, rewriting this is making hungry for some reason, but I must soldier through it since it has been a while since this here thang has been updated and an updating is in order. So I'll order another round and all will make merry.
Along the way, I met my wife, Cathy Naylor - Class of '86 and we have sired, so to speak, three children: Aubrey - Birth of '95; Felicity - Birth of '96; and Dennis III - Birth of '98 and we are all living in Rolling Hills (West Hempfield side of Hempfield Township).
The things that interest me at this point in my life are writing, music, and web design I Blog on a regular basis so if you wish to read what's on my mind just ask and I can send you a link to any or all of them.
I suppose that a summation is what I promised, so here goes...
After all these years, I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up but the wife and kids put up with me anyhow.
And so ends my tale...
