Dennis's Story
Hello my friends and classmates all over the world !!!
You can reach me at dbloufas at yahoo dot gr
This is Dennis Bloufas, the foreign exchange student at Midwest City High School for the school year 1972 - 1973. Here in Greece my friends call me Dennie!
In 1977 I graduated from Rose State College (then Oscar Rose Junior College in Midwest City) with an associate degree in Pre Law - Political Science.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma at Edmond (then Central State University) in 1979.
I received my Master of Education degree from the University of Oklahoma at Norman in 1980 and I returned to Europe.
I worked for two years as an interpreter of English in Athens and I also taught English for eighteen years at my private English School that I established in my country, in beautiful, sunny Greece.
I am married, my son Mattheos is about to receive his Bachelor's as an Archaeologist and my daughter Maria is in the first grade of Senior High. My wife Helen is a teacher of Religion and an excellent cook.
My son and I visited my American family in Midwest City in 2001 and we spent fifty (50) days in America. We went to New York, Texas, Oklahoma...Expand for more
, Colorado, old Mexico and California all the way up to Big Sur, Carmel by the sea, Monterey etc. We had a blast, it was a trip of a lifetime, our American friends were really fantastic!
In 1998 and again in 2007 my two American <brothers> since the foreign exchange year in '72 -'73 visited me in Greece with their families, we loved it!
I have traveled in the rest of the European Union a lot. Now I work for the Greek Government. Almost every year friends from all over the world visit me and my family in Greece. They come from the U.S.A., Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Spain, Holland, etc.
They enjoy the ancient Greek sites, Mount Olympus, The Acropolis in Athens, the Greek islands, Meteora, swimming in the Aegean Sea and more. They also love our excellent, homemade Greek food, drinks, and the Greek way of life.
I'd love to hear from old friends, or make new ones who would probably like to visit us in Greece.
In April 2010 my wife Eleni (Helen), my cousin Evelyn (Lilia) and I flew to Rome, Italy and on to Tunisia, North Africa for five days...It was an experience !!! Completely different culture and way of life there...
