Denis's Story
As I post this it’s been 60 years since graduating from Weaver. To be honest, I despised Weaver and felt it to be a total waste of 4 years of my life.
I had several good friends but I felt inspired by only one teacher, Mr. Katz. He taught geometry. He knew how to make the subject interesting. By harsh comparison, Mr. Plankey, who taught algebra 1 & 2 reeked of Raleigh cigarettes!

o, I stayed.
I joined the Army in June 1967, went to Vietnam on May 12, 1968 for one year, then, to Munich Germany for 16 months with military intelligence.
Was married soon after discharge, worked blue collar a few years and then went back to school (college UF Florida)…, undergrad and professional school. Received my DMD degree in 1983.., having to day practiced 43 years.
6 children, 6 grandchildren and happily married now for 18 years.
I hope to retire before I pass!
