Dennis's Story

I am a single, college educated individual, and was a licensed professional from 1982 to 2012 in confidential investigations, paralegal services, and litigation support with a personal special interest in "Civil Rights" issues. I also have over 25 years experience working a sideline job as a bartender with that ("Cocktail" (1988), - Tom Cruise, Bryan Brown) entertaining flare. I am also an ex-Vietnam Era Army Medic. I play guitar as an instrument of choice; I love the blues, folk, southern rock and classic rock, and used to play protest music and such publicly in the coffee houses of the late '60's and very early '70's, and wrote for progressive underground newspapers of an era long gone by. Once upon a time, in a land far, far, far away, about 1,395.89 miles South, in a warmer latitude than where I currently reside, I grew up on the seasonably balmy tropical peninsular shores of Florida's 72 mile "Space Coast," where monkeys and men were once launched into space ~ the final frontier! Florida, affectionately known to many by its State Motto as the "Sunshine State," was so blessed with a 1,350 mile shoreline of which 39.4 miles became the East coast surfing capital of the U.S. of A., the home of Mike Tabeling, Betsy Twombly, Claude Codgen, Gary Propper, Dick Catri, Jeff Crawford, and Kelly Slater. The 'Space Coast" wasn't totally immune from the disaster by being located on the Atlantic side of BP's Deepwater Horizon gulf oil spill with its burned ashes washing upon the shore. That's when complacent happy-go-lucky vacationers, with lots of disposable income to spend, could choose to retreat and escape into another fantasy world in central Florida located in Kissimmee, ~ properly pronounced ka--SIM-ee, [[NOT]] KISS-a-ME! I decided to move North to the State of New Hampshire with its 13 mile seacoast as a 'fair weather' summer surfer, in hopes of finding a better life, and seek new adventures. The land which spawned the likes of Daniel Web...Expand for more
ster who brainstormed a dictionary probably to pre-occupy his mind to avoid boredom, succumbing to 'cabin fever' to which Sarah Palin (R-AK) could actually 'refudiate' a new Orwellian Newspeak word; and the home and resting place of "J. D." Salinger who pinned "The Catcher in the Rye," and where Grace Metalious wrote an exposing novel all about living right here in "Peyton Place," where "Granny D," born in Laconia, lived and died to inspire a compelling nationwide interest in campaign finance reform knowing full well that money is the root of all politics. Comedian Adam Sandler and Seth Meyers developed a sense of humor for "Saturday Night Live" about 48.19 miles, or 49.70 miles South of me, not as a crow would fly, but dependent upon which way you travel in the 'granite state' of New Hampshire chasing the "American Dream." It's sort of like traveling through Franconia's "Notch," a narrow pass through the White Mountains; a gap to another awe inspiring world dimension on the other side past what Nathaniel Hawthorne referred to as, "The Great Stone Face." In a calque question of a Chinese philosophy, when the "Old Man of the Mountain" collapsed on May 3rd, 2003, did New Hampshire finally 'lose face' after the new millennium within the first 3 years of the initial original minting's of the "America the Beautiful Quarters Program" in the "Year of the Goat?" Unlike presidential candidate Rick Perry (R-TX), I can actually 'name' at least three (3) reasons ~ why I moved to the State of New Hampshire from "sunny" Florida. First off, New Hampshire was the first primary state in the nation, and the leader in "Democracy" [sic]; and secondly, I believed the State lived up to its motto, "Live Free or Die," and thirdly, for the abundantly 'free air conditioning' which was a great relief from Florida's excruciating sweltering summer heat and humidity! Disappointingly, I only get to 'Live Free' in the air conditioning, ...all winter long! Opps!!
