Dennis's Story
Life
Joined the Air Force while still at Elk Grove H.S. in winter of '76. Entered active duty in July of '77. Retired end of July 2001 after 24 years of great Air Force service.
Been stationed in Vegas, Frankfurt, Riverside, near Bremen, Germany, Omaha, and spent my time since Oct '89 at Ramstein near Kaiserslautern in Germany again. I also worked 1 1/2 yrs at Sembach Annex.
Have bought home now in Elk Grove, California. More on that further down - Read all.
Have three children. Oldest daughter - Jenny and her husband who's in A.F. made me and her mother grandparents in August of 2000. Brandon is wonderful. They had another boy, Nicholas in Jan 2004!
I spent my time as mechanic, and main financial supporter for my son Daniel who raced professional GoKarts in Germany. He did this challenging sport for over 5 years. He was fourth in his class for the German Championship for 2000.
His goal is to become a racer in either Indy (CART) or Formula One. Although NASCAR pays more!
Son is always looking for sponsors. He now lives in Florida.
I got a contract job working for the Royal Saudi Air Force in Riyadh, April 2002. I met my lovely wife Juliet during the coming year, and we married in the Phi...Expand for more
lippines, December 2002.
Unfortunately the security situation in Saudi Arabia started to deteriate and Al Qaeda targeted Americans abroad.
Juliet and I were living in Jadawel Compound on the outskirts of Riyadh, when on the night of May 12th, we were attacked by Al Qaeda terrorists who fought their way through our RSAF Guards, and civilian guards. They set off a truck bomb, killing compound workers, guards, and others. Luckily no americans lost their lives at Jadawel.
It took us over a week to get our releases and passports to leave the country. Unfortunately because of new threats and attempted hijacking in Jeddah to do another 9/11 attack in their homeland, the U.S. Embassies closed for 5 days.
We could now not process an entry visa for my wife. So we went two different directions, her to her home in Philippines, and me on to Sacramento. It took till January 2004 to get immigration done for Juliet, and her arrival in Sacramento.
Been working for Sears Home Improvements where I am a Project Consultant designing Siding, Windows, and Door projects.
Juliet and I bought our first home in the Laguna area of Elk Grove in June 2005. We love it here. Wish all old friends to contact us and say hi.
