Dennis's Story
Life
You would never suspect that the shy, quiet fellow that you knew in High School would end up with a career in Sales.
After Plant, I attended Florida Southern College as a Physics Major (yes still a nerd). After three semesters there I transfered to USF's College of Engineering where I eventually received a degree in mechanical engineering.
Then I began a career in Tampa as a Sales Support Engineer and met the woman who would become my wife. My career blossomed in the sales of heavy machinery for major equipment manufacturers. Opportunities for advancement has brought us to the New Orleans Area where we live now. I work for a company which manufactures component parts for large refinery equipment and does associated repairs.
My wife Libby is a Brandon Hi Grad from '72 and a USF Grad as well. We have two wonderful children. Emily is 25,and English Major attending Univ of So Miss, D Jay is 19 and also at USM in Music Industry and playing in the marching band.
We all really love ...Expand for more
the life in South Louisiana, especially the abundance of festivals and events. Mardi Gras is great fun and we do it to the max. Another really great time here is Jazz Festival in the spring. The seafood here is fabulous and very inexpensive (most of the time).
I enjoy doing a radio show here with a local community radio station WWOZ. My shows are every Wednesday 2-4pm. The show is called "Sittin' At The Crossroad". It is a blues show and highlights new releases but is filled with all ages and styles of blues. You can listen via the web, just search for WWOZ and you will find the home page. (Not allowed to give URL here.)
I hope that life has been good to you since your days "'Neath the pines of Palma Ceia" and if your travels bring you to New Orleans give me a call, we'll have some gumbo and hit the music clubs..
Workplace
I have made a career in the sales and service of large machinery. I now provide bearings and seals to the large refinery and chemical plants throughout the southeast.
