Denny's Story
After high school I went to EJC for 2 1/2 years. The army wanted to draft me, so with a little luck I finally got into the Air Force Reserve unit at Paine Field in 1964. After air force basic and technical training in Texas I went to Western Washington State College in Bellingham. My reserve unit was called to active duty from Jan 1968 - June 1969 and I served all 18 months at McChord AFB in Tacoma.
I worked for Judd & Black in Everett as their credit manager until 1976 and then went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell in Seattle as an Accounting Supervisor. I transferred to Denver in 1991, when my wife accepted a promotion with USWEST. We were both Accounting Managers for USWEST -- I was the field accountant for Outside Plant Records and Inventories and I traveled regularly...Expand for more
to all the 13 states in the USWEST/QWEST region. After retirement, I opened a shipping business called PAKMAIL and worked there for five years until I sold it.
I was a high school football referee for ten years in the Snohomish-King county area during the 1970s. I became a long distance runner in 1981 and ran hundreds of races in the Seattle area and around the USA. I ran the NYC marathon twice plus the Goodwill Games Marathon and Portland Marathon.
I am now retired and still enjoy traveling. I have been to almost all the countries in Europe and have visited most states in the USA. I have friends in Yukatan, Mexico that I visit regularly and spent three weeks on vacation in the Tokyo area in the summer of 2016 and in 2017 in visited Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia.
