Life Ok, if I write this bio I get half off my membership so here goes. To begin with I quit school after my sophmore year which I later wished I hadn't. That summer I went to work on a farm North of Antigo for $50 a week plus room and board. Oh yeah, I'm really off to a good start! Worked there for a few months and quit. Got another job, same deal, at a farm in Wittenburg. Worked there until the spring of '72 at which time I found I could get a job in Jeffersonville, IN starting at $8.00 an hour as a hod carrier. (Beats shoveling cow manure!)I caught a ride with some family that was heading there (my car was broke down) and I've pretty much lived in this area every since. I now live in Lanesville which is about 18 miles from Jeffersonville, IN. In 1973 I was still working in the masonary business and was doing OK. I had just bought a 650 Triumph which was a beautiful bike. One day after work I got into a race with a guy on a Honda. We were on a long straight road for about 1/4 mile but then came into a sharp curve. I wrecked and crushed the femur in my right leg. The doc estimated about 30 pieces of bone in a 3 inch section. I spent 64 days in the hospital with my leg in traction. I mean flat on my back, not able to get out of bed even once! After getting out I had a cast for about 6 months and then a full leg brace for another 6 months. During that time as part of rehab they sent me through college for 2 years. I took Computer Sciences plus some other computer relate classes. After graduating I tried to get a job working with computers but the best I could find at that time only paid $4.50 starting out. So, I went against my doctors orders and went back into the masonary business. I eventually became a brick layer which was OK except for it being seasonal work. I wanted something with a steady paycheck so in 1982 I landed a job as a diesel mechanic. This turned out to be a pretty good job and I worked there until 1995. In 1995 the owner of ...Expand for more
