Derek's Story
Life
I got married in 1986.
I have six kids, four daughters and two sons, who keep me very busy and very happy.
School
I met my future wife in 1985. One of my favorite memories was taking her to her junior prom. At the expensive restaurant before the prom, they seated us next to the loud kitchen and the food was too spicy, but it didn't matter because I was with her. At the dance, at her school, I didn't know anyone, but it didn't mat...Expand for more
ter because we were in our own little romantic world. It was a great night!
Workplace
I started working for the Sacramento Public Library in 1985 and worked for them until mid-1993. Then I worked for four years as a church administrator and children's ministry director. I returned to the public library in 1997 and have since worked my way up to becoming a branch manager. I am going to night school now to hopefully progress in my career.
