Derrick's Story
Well, after my junior year, I spent my senior year in a non-profit halfway house. Graduated high school and went to Houston Community college for about a year(EMT). Worked and lived in downtown Houston in the rest. business. Then in 1993 joined the Navy and ended up in Puerto Rico(NSWU-4) Puerto Rico. Got out of the Navy in 1996 and started working on charter boats in local area. Finally got my Captains license and started doing Boat deliveries and continued chartering.In 1995, I married my beautiful wife (Grisel)and in 1996 we had our son Dylon(12).

Puerto Rico went south, so I joined a Tug and barge oil transportation business and have been there since.
I am owning my own home in the mountains, surf and go snowboarding in the winter. I work all over the Caribbean and the US. I am hoping to semi retire in the next 7-10 years and own a B & B in Costa Rica, so that I can surf and changed bed sheets everyday and see my family more often. Im ussualy away from home for a month at a time and spend about three weeks off at a time. Life is great and I am really blessed with what, who and where I am all the way around. My wife and son mean the world to me.
