Devin's Story
Life
What a strange trip it has been! Life is good today. I remember growing up on our small farm in Alabama, helping out with the cows (which I hated). The worst was picking up roots out in Cloverdale, which was akin to using a spoon to dig up the beach. All in all, my sisters and I had a good time out on the farm.
In 1987, we moved back to South Louisiana where my parents were both originally from. The teen years in Baton Rouge were filled with many adventures (haven't we all had some "youthful indiscretions") -- some I can't remember, some I'll never forget.
I joined the Marine Corps after 1 (very) brief semester at LSU. I spent 4 years traveling to such places as Okinawa and sunny Southern California (my favorite place in the country now), but more importantly, I had a chance to grow up and straighten up. I met the girl I almost married, went back to LSU, got the best dogs I've ever had -- my Weimaraners, Kaiser and Kohl.

ut to Phoenix (my second love after CA) and did some easy livin' in the desert to gain some perspective. With 1 1/2 semesters to complete my degree, I returned to Baton Rouge and LSU to finish college. Exactly one week after graduation, I began law school, and I graduated in May 2005. I suffered through the most agonizing experience of my life: the Louisiana bar exam, which I passed on the first attempt. I'm now a real estate lawyer in New Orleans with my own title company and small law firm.
My wife, Jenny, and I met in law school (same section). We started dating in October of our senior year and eloped to Vegas for a desert sunset wedding 3 months later. We have a handsome 17 month old little boy, Devin Jr., a nice little house in Uptown New Orleans that actually has a back yard, those same old dogs, and a life that brings us more joy than I would have thought possible. We like to travel when we can, often to the triathlons in which we race.
