Deyanira's Story
I went Moreland Avenue Elementary from 1968 to 1974. In Kindergarten I did not speak English and the English teacher's name was Mrs. Frias. She was so cool. I remember the music teacher being really strick and having music class on stage. For 2nd grade I had Mrs. Day. My family moved to another area of Atlanta when I was in 5th grade. I hated moving! ve Points area. I loved that first house on the left on Austin Ave. I used to pick the flowers and take them to my mother on the way home from school. Bet those people hated seeing me come by everyday.
I'm happily married and have 2 beautiful children who happen to be fluent in both Spanish and English. I guess I loved school so much that I could never leave....I am a Spanish Middle School teacher in Georgia.
