Diana's Story
Life - Diana Clay (O'Dell)
Military Brats -- there were four of us at the time: Kenny, JoAnn, Diana, and Bill! Later came Bob. We lived all over the country, and Japan was the best! Every time we get together, we relive and retell all those fond stories of Fuchu, Chofu, Green Park, Momote Village, Grant Heights, the Air Force Base NCO Club playing BINGO, Protestant Church services, practicing English with Japanese students, Sock Hops, Candy Strippers, Glee Club and Christmas Caroles, the old spooky theatre...crazy drivers, the shuttle bus that went base to base...wonderful, glorious memories!
After living all over the world, it was pure culture shock to live in rural Arkansas, then more-rural Arizona. I went back to college after 20+ years, and graduated with honors (of course! I went to Choctaw and Piedmont!). Today I live and work in the...Expand for more
Phoenix metropolitan area, and life is wonderful. I have 4 self-reliant adults calling me "Mom." My grandchildren are such fun, and keep me grounded. Needless to say, my relationship with my family is my most treasured gift.
For 15 years, I was a substitute teacher in a small rural Arizona town. Today I staff the Commerce Committee and am the Director of Interns and Training at the Arizona House of Representatives. Each year I oversee an awesome group of young people from Arizona's universities, and they serve as support staff during the legislative session.
I marvel at the continued blessings that pour down upon me! I have been single a number of years, perhaps because of my loooong work hours?! I know that God had a hand in the path that was a miracle road to where I am today. I give Him full credit. Life is really good!
