Diana Dee's Story
I graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Nursing School Diploma Program in '79 and worked as an RN in Albany Medical Center's neurology unit. I then went to SCCC '80-81 in hopes of earning my BSN. In the interim, I met my husband from CA at church; we married in '81 & then moved to his home state, CA. We've lived in CA, MA, MD, & NC. Over the years, we have been volunteering with various youth groups in our church from pre-school to college age. High-lites have included going to Mexico with the HS group twice to build small homes for the homeless & 2 other mission trips included repairing/painting homes and helping out in food banks, etc. in NC. This summer, I'll be going to Jamaica to help buil...Expand for more
d out-houses & work with children. I've enjoyed being camp nurse for all of these life-changing trips.
We have raised 3 children, now HS grad- post-college. I home-educated them a total of 11 years until I returned to college to finish pursuing my BSN degree. In '07, I earned an A.A. Degree & in Dec. '09, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill's (Tar Heels) School of Nursing BSN program.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, playing sports like a short round of golf, being creative, and staying connected with family, SGHS alumni, & other friends. I love to travel and usually drive north each year. It has been so wonderful to visiting with family & friends and enjoying a little "blast of the past."
