diana's Story

I went right out of high school into nursing school-could not wait to leave SS-I wanted adventure-I started out as an LPN then went to ADN=BSN and now I am working on my Psychiatric Nurse practioner license-want to hang a shingle-in SS? do not know-if the market is right-I do miss some aspects of SS. Abnormal psychology is my thing- after X amt of marriages I finally realized domestic life is and never was what I want-I tried to conform to what I thought was my destiny in SS-no go-my favorite places in travel nursing were coastal-right now I am beached -my mom is 91 and needs my help-I do have one great son who is so unlike me that it is hard to believe-i was always studious, I do not think he has ever read a book all the way through unless it was the Arnold Swarzenegger Bible of body building-...Expand for more
he dead lifts #540 and benches #495 or something close to 500-anyway after 37 years of seeing it all in nursing, I am on vacation for awhile. I have slowed down somewhat , but do not like it. I still love music very much. It would be nice to come home to SS and live and work there for awhile-maybe after I get my APRN/DPN ( I am in a combined course), I will see. It has been fun finding this site and seeing people I have not seen in so long. If you remember me add me as a friend-I was pretty shy and felt transparent in high school or more like invisible-but my line of work quickly cured me of that-presently I am doing a little teaching in domestic violence here in the "septic triangle" as the medical/psychiatric community calls this area of Oklahoma. Again, it has been wonderful seeing old faces.
