Diane's Story
Life
It seems a very long time since high school and I guess it is since a lot has happened. I went to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville after high school and met Marty Arnold (Notre Dame High School, 1968), in December we will be married 34 years! We have a daughter, Amy, who is 27 years old. She graduated from Villanova University and was married last year.We are blessed that she and her husband live close by. Although I graduated with a degree in Nursing from Tennessee and a Master's Degree in Midwifery from Emory, I realized after a few years that delivering babies was not compatable with family life so I became a residential real estate agent. Marty graduated with a B.S in Engineering from Tennessee and a Master's in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and works as a commerical real estate agent. We live in Midtown Atlanta within blocks of the High Museum of Art and in the shadow of the Midtown Skyscrapers. Our lives have not really turned out the way we expected, planned or prepared for -they are much, much better!!

lass if the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. My first year out of college I worked in Moline, Illinois at Lutheran Hospital on the Surgical Unit and at Dubuque, Iowa at Mercy Hospital in the Nursery and Intensive Care Nursery. I married before my last quarter in nursing school. After living in Illinois and Iowa, my husband and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. I taught nursing at Georgia Baptist School of Nursing (a diploma school) and then went to Emory University for my Master's Degree in Midwifery. I worked in a private OBGYN's office following graduation and then at Grady Memorial Hospital as a Nurse-Midwife. By then I had a young child and found I was working all three shifts and either gone or asleep. As much as I loved midwifery I found it was not compatable with family life. I gave it up and became a residential real estate agent and have followed that profession for the last fifteen years. My daughter has now graduate from college and my husband and I live in downtown Atlanta. We love our home, our professions, our city and our lives.
