Diane's Story
Life
I obtained my GED in 1988 and attended Warner Pacific Christian College where I graduated with an Associates Degree in Health Sciences. I was married for fourteen years and had two daughters, Holly and Amy Linstead. Their father was killed in 1995 by a drunk driver when his motorcycle was struck. I have since remarried and we have been together for six years. I work as a phlebotomist at Oregon Health and Sciences University and am planning to finish my bachelors degree in nursing within the next five years. My mother and several of my immediate family members still live in Wendell and I return once in a while to visit.My home has been in Portland for the past 25 or so years and we just finished purchasing our second home. We own two cats, Sadie and Sassy and one 12 year old weiner dog, Rusty. We love to ride motorcycles and blues music. My husband is an amateur artist and I sing with my friend Jillaine, a local recording blues artist. We are both very dedicated to the 12 step programs of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous and participate with all local agencies in drug and alcohol abuse programs. My husband rides with a Clean and Sober Motorcycle Club and goes into institutions to work with young men in hopes of turning their lives around. This truly our passion and labor of the heart. I managed a clena and sober social club for 1 1/2 years and my husband is still the President of the organization. We hope to open our own within the next two years.
