Diane's Story
Moving around as much as I did it`s been wonderful to have settled in one place for the last 24 years. After leaving George Bonner in 1985 and moving to Yellowknife I spent the next 3 years attending Sir John Franklin. After graduation I went as an Au Par in Bonn, Germany for 5 months. I had an enjoyable position taking care of a little girl and boy. When the position ended I returned home to Vancouver Island, BC. And that`s when the fates took over. :D I arrived home in November and met up with an old friend, Ed. On Christmas Eve, Ed and his buddies called me and invited me out to the Cobble Stone Pub... I was underage and told them I couldn`t make it. They bunch of them called again on New Years getting the same response... so then they tactic changed. Ed played hockey and his buddy needed a babysitter for his son so he could play goal. I love kids... had nothing ...Expand for more
else to do and called Alan to let him know that yes I could babysit. And the rest is history. I guess they had been trying to introduce us for months. We married within the year and moved to a small town outside of Kamloops, BC. And added 2 sons to our family. Right after we moved here my parents joined us and built their home on our acreage. Lots of stress over the years but we came thru and in June 2015 we`ll be celebrating 25 years of marriage and I wouldn`t change a thing.
These days I have horses (instead of children), chickens and meat birds and a couple dogs. A cat hangs out here too. We are renovating our turn of the century home and just enjoying life. I spend summers working at an Army Camp in Cadet Banking. The rest of the year I grow and preserve all our own foods.
We`re hoping to add some travel to our life. I`ve got a list of places I`d like to see.
