Diane's Story
Life
I was born in Germany and moved to the US as a high school freshman, when my mother married a US Army soldier. He retired in New Hampshire, and I've stayed here my whole life although I have traveled extensively and seen 23 states, 5 provinces, and 8 countries.
Rick is my 2nd husband; I have 2 fabulous step-children. Jeff married Kathy in October 2005, and Julie married Marc in June, 2008. Jeff & Kathy's first child was born February 27th, 2010 : ) We are excited to be Pepere and Omi to Marleigh. Adelaide was born June 17, 2012 - a Father's Day present for Jeff. Julie and Marc welcomed Camden into the world on April 28, 2014.
I've worked in human resources and operations most of my adult life for large companies. I give back through volunteer work with people recovering from addictions. My favorite causes are breast cancer research, domestic violence education and protection, animal rescue and shelters, literacy, and drug/alcohol recovery.
My political convictions are centrist, but I can lean heavily liberal and occasionally conservative :)
My secret vice is historical novels. I read them like eating candy; a well-written historical teaches me much about how life u...Expand for more
sed to be. I highly recommend Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, Anne Perry's Monk series and Thomas Pitt series. I'm also a Free Cell addict and play about 8 different solitaire games on my tablet pretty much daily.
Our household has a computer per occupant, and we take our laptops with us for any overnights to stay connected. Maybe I'll make do with my Google Nexus next time. :) Life with my husband means a TV on while he is in the house, turned to a sporting event. We enjoy hockey, football, & baseball most, and hold season tickets to the Manchester Monarchs Hockey Club and the Manchester Wolves Arena Football Team when they were in town.
We enjoy music and like to a attend a few concerts every year. With the Verizon arena in our city, it's easy to see big name acts if you can get your hands on tickets. Over the past few years, we've seen the Eagles, Bare Naked Ladies, James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Steely Dan, and Andre Rieu.
I reconnected with a couple of friends from as far back as 7th grade in Germany through Classmates, and have found some folks with whom I used work, so I enjoy this site and invite people to contact me if we know each other.
