Diane's Story

Life My Spouse: Bob is from Bridgeville, DE. We are members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association -- he was Chapter Director of Delaware Chapter B and I was Chapter Director of Maryland Chapter H when we were single again. We met at an Officers' Training Seminar on April 30, 1994. Since we both ride Honda Gold Wing Motorcycles, we had the same friends who were always trying to fix us up, but not with each other. We had been in the same room at the same time prior to this meeting, but never paid any attention to each other. Finally the time was right. Today we have been married since 5/29/98. We have traveled many miles on our Gold Wings in all the original 48 and Canada too. My Pets: We have two Cocker Spaniels -- Beau and Sammy. Since our children are grown, they have become our substitute children. My Kids: Denise is my oldest, born 8/24/66, and the mother of my grandchildren. Cindy is next bor...Expand for more
n 9/19/67 and my youngest is Joe, born 1/11/73. If you remember Doyle Long, my father, you now know what Joe looks like. Workplace I was Secretary to the Legal Advisor, Legal Affairs Division for the Baltimore Police Dept. for 18 yrs. It was a one-girl office which I helped start and enjoyed immensely. I then took a fourth promotion and became secretary to the Deputy Commissioner, Operations Bureau for 6 yrs. Then it was back to Legal Affairs for 3 yrs. to finish up my career. I retired at age 50 in 1996 with 27 actual years, but with 32 yrs. 10 mos. after incentives. I had a wonderful career and still get paid! I don't regret a moment of it. Military I lived in Barracks 902 Lower Port and worked for the Recruit Training Regiment, S-3, Scheduling as an 0141 (Clerk Typist). We prepared all the boot camp schedules for the male recruits at PI. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 yrs. stationed at Parris Island.
