Diane's Story

Life Update: Just as time passes, my life has changed significantly since I first joined Classmates in 2000. I have retired from teaching after 30 yrs. and am spending more time on the Tennessee River in Kentucky than in Jacksonville, FL. I now have 13 grandchildren in Florida and Utah. My husband, Max, died in April '09 from complications (bacterial pneumonia) of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Ive been told not to make any major life decisions (investments, houses, relationships)for at least...Expand for more
two years so I'm not. Im still active in the Woman's Club, Local politics, and charities. I've endowed a scholarship and a computer lab in Max's honor. I have started going out to dinner, movies and day trips but no long trips yet. Am so thankful for all my friends past and present who have written and re-established contact. Their support has been invaluable. I have learned you can suffer a great loss and not lose yourself in the process. I am eager to be "of the world" once again.
