Diane's Story

Well, a lot has changed since the time I have graduated. I have been married to Brad for 28 years. His family was also from the Bradford area, thought he was born in California. We have two children. My daughter, Christine, is 23. She married a nice young man a couple of years ago. And my son, Greg is 20 and he recently got married himself to a cute young lady this past fall. It does not seem possible how quickly time has marched on! I am now a grandmother, as my daughter and her husband had a little girl a little over a year ago. She is now talking, and my husband and I are now officially grandparents because she can finally say grandma and grandpa as of two days ago. Of course we are on cloud nine to have this little treasure in our life. When Brad and I were first married we lived in Bradford for the first few years, and then we moved to Olean. Since then we have lived also in Hawaii, Massachusetts and in several towns in New York State. We just moved back to the area about four years ago, and at this time we live only a short drive from Bradford. No matter where I have lived, only the hills of Pennsylvania have felt like home. People put a lot of value in the things that this world has to offer, but the things that I cherish the most are the simple things in life. Having my family and friends around me brings me the greatest joy. I also enjoy the many things that God had created. I love animals and at this time I have one cat, which is my shadow where ever I go. I enjoy the great outdoors and the beauty of the world around me. e to each and every one of us if we just stop to smell the roses. I love to watch the sun set at night, or the birds at my bird feeders. During the summer months you might find my family up at Allegany State Park. We love to camp there; enjoying a campfire, and driving around the park at dusk and look for wildlife. We even have had a chance to see a couple black bear over the past few years. I love taking photos, and I am sure that many people wish that my camera would break. I have taken photos from the beautiful beaches of Hawaii to the rugged coast of Maine, each having its own beauty. We have also traveled through several of the east coast states. I would love to have the chance to go to Yellowstone, Yosemite or the Grand Canyon in the future if I am able to. I'm sure that my camera would get a great work out if ever I had the opportunity to go there. Most of my family still lives in the Bradford area. My father past away in 1992, and my mother past away in 2007, and I miss them both a great deal. My family tries to get together often, which I am thankful for. I thank my parents for giving us such a wonderful beginning. They raised us in a small town, and though we might not have had much in a material way, we always had love. And I am so thankful that the love they showed us has continued in our own families, and even though it has been years since my brother and sisters lived under one roof, we have always been a very close family. I am glad that my life began in Bradford. No matter how many years go by, and how far away I might move from the area, Bradford will always be my home.
