Diane's Story
Since High School:
I got married not long after high school and had the 5 kids. Then I went to 4 years of nursing school (St. Francis College of Nursing in Peoria) and a messy divorce, I got my BSN. 4 days after graduating from college I packed up my house and my 5 kids and the kids and I moved to Florida. I started working in a Hospital in Pasedena Florida...worked there until I took my boards here in Florida and then switched over to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. ealth Department working in Pediatrics and also headed up the Substance abuse baby clinic. From there I moved on the home health nursing and changed to adult health. I worked in Home Health for Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater until 1992 when I developed heart problems and they put me on long term disability. I then raised my children to adults and now have 3 grandsons ages 7, 2 and 7 months which I watch while their parents work. I own a house iin Clearwater, FL and do discharge summaries at the local hospitals for several of the doctors since I cannot work as a nurse. I still am single, but have a very active life.
