As my daughter Katie reaches those dreaded teen years and I reflect on mine, I hope that people remember who I was and not what I did. As a rather shy, insecure person I made up for it by trying to follow the crowd. I hope instead that people will remember me as a loyal friend, trustworthy and kind. My daughter faces the challenges I faced in a much tougher world and fortunately she has someone to talk to and support her. She has played piano for five years, is on the soccer and volleyball team, active in the church youth group and anything else that comes her way.
