Dianne's Story
Life
Hi, everyone.
This is a great way to catch up with old friends. As you can see, I went to six different colleges before graduating. This all happened because I married after two years at the University of Ala. I met my husband, Bill Fuqua(Murphy HS-'62), at Alabama while we were both in the Million Dollar Band. Bill was the Drum Major and became an Air Force pilot after graduation. His pilot career took us to Lubbock, TX, Shreveport and Bossier City, LA, Merced, CA, and Hagerstown(Williamsport), MD, before finally arriving in Warner Robins, GA. We now live in Centerville, GA, and Bill is a pilot for Continental Air Lines.
I transferred colleges every time we moved and finally finished my Bachelor's degree in 1986. I have been teaching at Northside Middle School since 1986. In 1996, I received my Master's degree.
We had 2 children, Sondra Dianne in 1969 and William J., III(Bill)in 1972. Sadly, we lost Sondra in July of 1990 to Cystic Fibrosis. Bill is an account exec., married, and living in Athens, GA. In October, 2003, we became grandparents with the birth of William "Jackson" Fuqua, IV.
We love Shetland Sheepdogs and are now into agility, ALA football, traveling, and researching our geneology.
My husband retired in September, 2004, and I retired in June, 2006, so now we can travel even more.
On December 30, 2005, we were blessed with a grand-daughter, Anna Kate Fuqua. Both grandkids love music and sports, like gymnastics, soccer, and basketball.

Bill and Duke, our 8 year old sheltie, earned their MACH (Master Agility Champion), and in March of 2008, we are headed to the AKC Agility National competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The next year we went to the AKC National's in Concord, NC. In 2009, they earned the 2nd MACH, and then earned the PAX in July, 2010. We have added another agility enthusiast to the family with Baron, who is now 2 1/2. They both love agility, and Tre'sor and Duchess are the best "cheerleaders".
I would love to hear from "old" friends and classmates.
April, 2011, Tre'sor (13 yrs)was diagnosed with lymphoma the first of March and Duke (12 yrs) was just diagnosed with a mass in his bladder last week at Auburn vet school. They are both receiving treatment at Auburn; please keep them in your prayers. They are both being so brave, but it is very hard.
Baron, now 3, and Duchess, now 12, are being supportive.
Bill's 92 y/o mother, who has ALZ, is now living with us, so we really need your prayers for strength. After living with us for 16 months, Bill's mom moved to a nursing facility. She has adjusted very well to her new environment.
Baron, now 4 1/2, qualified for Agility National's (2012) in Reno, NV, but we decided not to make that long trip. He has earned his MACH and has qualified for National's in 2013, in Tulsa. Hope we can make it. Our hearts were broken when we lost both Tre'sor and Duke to their cancers (2011 &2012 respectively). We are happily training another male sheltie, named Saban.
