Dianne's Story
My Life -- ages 0-17:
Born in San Francisco, lived in Glendale, Fresno, and Chico CA. Moved to OR in first grade. Lived in North Bend, The Dalles, Portland, and Roseburg OR grades 1-7. Moved to Tacoma WA for grades 8-9 and Spokane WA for grade 10. Lived in Troy MT for grade 11 and graduated from Santa Ana High School CA.
My Life ages 17- present:
Attended University of Denver (1958-60) & Southern California College (1960-1964) = BA in Social Sciences & Education; taught 5th-6th grades in South Los Angeles. Graduate studies in counseling & guidance (San Jose State); Ms.Ed. Suny-Albany (NY) 1971; Ph.D. SUNY-Albany (1998). Reading specialist in rural school districts upstate NY (1971-1989). Professor of Literacy Education 1990-2002; retired Jan 1, 2002 from Concordia University at Austin (TX); Still enjoy music, sports, travel, & writing.

r, like most of my earlier life, involved several schools, a few majors, lots of friends, lots of activities, and many good memories. I studied hard, played hard, and ejoyed my Christian friends. My majors reflect my well-rounded personality: high school -- math & science,BA: Social Sciences/Education, MSEd: Reading & Literacy Education, and PhD: Reading & Literacy Education. All these prepared me to train teachers in a variety of subjects at all levels. God truly causes all things to work together for good; He never wastes a thing - no even a college course! He uses it all to make me who I am today -- a retired professor of education who enjoys life to its fullest!
