Dianne's Story
Life
I am currently divorced. Been divorced for the last 5 yrs. My only child , son is 12 years old and about to start 7th grade this fall. We will be moving to Jax, Fl at the end of the summer. I am about to receive my BBA in accouting next month and will have a BBA in management in Nov 05. Life has been busy but its getting better by the minute and am currently on a diet and have lost about 8lbs so fat in 4 weeks.
As for an update, I am still divorced going on 6 years. My son is about to complete the 7th grade and going to turn 13 in the nect couple of months. As for me I did receive my accounting degree in 2005 and just recently got hired for an accounting postion with a company in Birmingham,Alabama. So I currently commute on the weekends back to Enterprise until my son gets out of school and hopefully will have an apartment bv that time. I also have a "guyfriend" that is coming to visit me sometime this summer. He lives in Hawaii. This has been going on for about a year and a half. Never know where it may lead,,,,,stay tuned.
School
One of my best school memories that I can actually remember is May 1980 in the May Day program at Nimitz Elementary. I was in the 6th grade and our 6th grade classes did a dance routine to Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" and being the shyest person that hss ever walked the face of the earth , was the one selected to represent the sixth grade in learning the routine from one of the teachers and then teach it to rest of the classes. It was my 15 minutes of fame and was even placed out in the front row but it was fun. ry at first to include the death of my mother"my best friend" two months later, I had to develop a tougher layer of skin and not be afraid of anything, but to face it head on with the help of GOD; thats the only way I have made it this far........
Military
Well, as for the military service, its been over for me for the last 10 years by a fluke. I was within my reenllistment window and had to be weighed and taped ; the person that did this used first said that i was eligible for reenlistment and then it was found out that she used the wrong table for age and height and by that time my window was closed and I had to get out ,,,,,,some luck because I really enjoyed my job and the people I worked with on a daily basis but it may have been the right thing to happen at that time because my husband had serious drug problems that basically kept the stress upon me.. With all the help that I could be to him or even get him , it didnt help ,,, it just got worse where I just had to let him go in 1998-99. My divorce was final in 2000. I am glad to report that he has been off of drugs for the last 3 years and is currently married and expecting their first child together not to include the other 4 children she had from previous relationships. As for me , I regret it all the time not being "in" anymore,I miss it everyday,,, just thinking Iwould have had 17years in Nov.05,but that is water under the bridge and I have moved on eventhough I live and associate with military people still on a daily basis beacuse I live 7 miles from the base , just cant get enough of it and besides the fact that my father retired here close to 20 years ago(Ft Rucker) but I have to move on that is why I am moving to Jax, Fl in ethe end of summer, to start anew.
