Lawrence's Story

Life Nine years of college toward multiple degrees in Bible, history, psychology, and many other subjects, have delievered me to P.O. Box 72, Garrison, ND 58540-0072 from 1987-present. Since leaving Cocoa High in 1962 I have lived in the following: In Austin, TX at Concordia College; Concordia College, Fort Wayne, IN; University of Minnesota, MPLS, MN;Central Theological Seminary, MPLS, MN; Minot State University, Minot, ND; and taken courses through proctor while studying psychology at Minot, ND and Liberty University. We have been used by the Lord Jesus Christ to start Christian Drug and Alchohol Rehab. Ctrs, ministries to completed Jews, while "making tents" so to speak in many avenues of endeavor. For the last year I have been visiting with a 30 year old native american named Emmanuel, who has had much trouble in alcohol, but he and his wife have given their hearts and lives to Christ, and are meeting with me evewry week to "Grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of Him! We hope to lead his entire family into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so they too can go to heaven someday. College I studied for greek tests all night, and one such night I came up with a joke a joke as follows: Do you know what the ancient koine greek word for to come is?ERCHOMAI! Do you know what the ancient greek word for to go is? ERCHOMAI! That's why they fell. THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER THEY WERE COMING OR GOING! It's orriginal because that was the direction my life was taking in Cocoa High School, Rockledge, FL. I planned on being a singer/comedian, but I needed a stiff drink in order to entertain, and as I prayed to Jesus about what to do, I cou...Expand for more
ld see the end, I would be a drunk on skid row, so with much prayer, God lead me into the Ministry, and I am working for the third time in my life to start a new ministry, ND Challenge, a Christain Drug/Alcohol Rehab center as I did in 1969-1972 in MPLS,MN, called Midwest Challenge. Workplace Presently I am planning to help our new ministry to the addicted become self supporting, even though we still need all the offerings His people can send in. One such business will, Lord willing, be "EASY DESK", so people can relax while reading, studying, and using their computers at home. Another one is, "CUP OF ICE", and finally I hope to open a national youth center called "THE WAITING ROOM" containing enough entertainment and helps for any need the average American family has throughout the week. Military I left my study to become a Lutheran Minister, in order to find out what was wrong with my Christian experience. I was called to come back to Florida for the draft during Vietnam, but I joined an extra year, and ended up as a clerk typist in Kaiserslautern, Germany for 3 years. It was there that the Lord Jesus began to convict me of my lost condition, and as an ignorant, hillbilly quoted the entire story of Nichedemus from John 3 without looking at his pocket testament, I knew I was lost, and went to a military dayroom where I prayed and received Jesus Christ as my own personal Lord and Savior. Within a few weeks Jesus also baptized me with the Holy Spirit, and I began to share christ in German and English on the streets of German, and later in America also.Read THE CROSS AND THE SWITCHBLADE by David Wilkerson, and Jesus may do something great for you too.
