Dodi's Story
Life
I moved to Alabama the second semester of my 6th grade year. I graduated from a public school and enrolled in college majoring in Education. I married the man of my dreams, Bobby Traylor, in 1980 and am still married to him today. Sadly my sister, and best friend,Ouida, passed away in 1982, leaving behind a precious 3 year old Jonica. My husband and I adopted her. I quit school and work and stayed home with her. She's sweet , bright, and will be getting married Sept.3,2004.I was told by my doctor I would never carry a baby to term. God's still in control and our blessing ( Robert) arrived in July 1983. When he entered first grade, I went back to school and recieved my degree. I have been teaching since. I live in Leeds, Alabama with my husband, 5 cats and 1 huge dog, who has no idea how big he is. School
I went to Kindergarten at Green Acres Christian Acadamy. I left there and went to St. Lukes Catholic School. I moved to Alabama in the middle of the 6th Grade. I went to Erwin Elementary and then onto Erwin High School graduating in 1979. Mr. Mahaley, the first permanent lay teacher at St. Lukes my fifth grade year was my inspiration for my chosen career. I teach 6th Grade Social Studies now although I have taught k-5, 3rd, 4th, 7th Math, 8th Language Arts, this is my favorite. I married right out of high school but continued college and graduated in 94 after time off until my kids started school. I plan on staying in school until I am at least 65. There is no greater reward than seeing the light come on in a child's eyes. There are too many funny, great times to list here. I'd love to hear from any of you.
