Dolores's Story
Since I left Bell-Jeff, I have lived in Orange County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County, finally returning to settle in LA County.
After a lot of blunders in my younger days, I was able to pick myself up, dust myself off and get my life in order. However, in 2005 my legal career came to an abrupt end when I developed Carpal Tunnel. Unfortunately for me, the 5 surgeries did nothing to alleviate this condition, but nothing can break my spirit now.
My son, Joshua (now 33) married the girl of his dreams in October 2007 and I am absolutely thrilled with my new daughter in law.
My daughter, Tiffany (now 27) also married the man of her dreams and of course I am thrilled with him as well.
I am excited as I am in pursuing an MA in education. The only other thing I'm missing now is grandchildren.
I am back in LA County and live in the valley (Northridge) near CSUN, which makes it very convenient for me.
Update June 2010:
I am thrilled with the recent changes in my life...I have had a great time readjusting to the "student" life. I've met some truly wonderful people along the way and look forward to the next couple of years at CSUN.
I am also thrilled and excited to announce that my daughter and her husband are expecting their first child in Octobe...Expand for more
r. YAY! I am going to be a grandmother and I am going to have the time of my life spoiling my grand-daughter. Yes, they're having a girl!
Update August 12, 2011:
My daughter had her baby last October, and I am now the proud grandmother of a 10 month old baby girl who is absolutely gorgeous. I have been spending a lot of time with her and have put my education on hold for a bit so that I can enjoy every possible moment with this precious gift from God. There are some things one can never experience twice and the first few years of a grandchild's life is one of those.
Update November 25, 2013:
I am now the proud grandma of 2 girls and expecting a grandson by my son & his beautiful wife December 15th! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, being a grandma!!!
Update December 23, 2013:
I am now the proud grandmom Mimi (nicknames given to me by oldest grand-daughter) to 3 beautiful children, 2 girls (daughter) and 1 boy (son). I couldn't be happier! I LOVE being a grandma!
I have placed my education and career on hold since the 1st grandchild was born because I don't want to miss a minute of this precious time! Everything else can wait.....for now.
I have also joined Facebook and have reconnected with some long lost friends. Can't wait to catch up with you all!
