Don's Story
Life
Well, the last fifteen years I've had a rough go of it, living with a serious health problem. NOT contagious or permanent. Still dealing with it but expect it to end soon.
I can't believe that the time goes so quickly by!! Sometimes it feels like yesterday that I was in school with you all, so young and excited about the life ahead!
Things turned out differently than I had expected; I thought I would spend my working life in the military. Tried it, didn't like it and went back to school after a stint in the forest service. Graduated from UBC with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy.
I eventually ended up in New Mexico, U.S.A., working with disabled kids on the Navajo Reservation. I love it! I've also been tea...Expand for more
ching at the local college part time in evenings and summer. Never thought I'd do THAT!
Life is funny, but life's OK; There's something to be said about being content, rather than "happy". I'm content...
I've got four dogs, a cat and a wonderful girlfriend, whom I hope to marry in the next year or two. The dogs provide comic relief and the cat purrs me to sleep each night. I also grow hot chili peppers in the summer, making sauce and friends who come by to see how the garden is doing.
My girlfriend is AWESOME!! I never thought that I'd be so lucky as to be close to such a beautiful and intelligent person. She's got two great kids and I am privileged to be part of their lives.
I guess that I am a rich man.
