Don's Story
Life
After graduation, did 20 years in US Navy in submarines. USS Los Angeles (SSN-688), USS Omaha (SSN-692) and USS Annapolis (SSN-760). For shore duty, worked at Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific (NSTCP) in Hawaii and later as a Submarine Officer instructor/trainer at Naval Submarine School in Groton, CT (also helped build first ever classified training network for submarine training). Retired from the Navy in November 2004.
Worked at Raytheon in RI and MA for 14 years as an engineer and trainer/instructor, then with Tyco (later bought...Expand for more
out by Johnson Controls) for 5 years as a co-manger for training development for an access control division.
Currently, I am a Corporate Training Manager with Heilind Electronics | DB Roberts | ICC businesses, creating and managing the business' training program.
Married to fellow Atwater High School Class of 1984 graduate, Frances Finger (Schweitzer). We have two boys, Andrew and Eric both in their 30s (as of 2022),
Earned a Bachelors Degree of Science (BS) in Workforce Education and Curriculum Development from Southern Illinois University.
