Don's Story
Life
The older I get the more crossroads & missed opportunities I see. Too bad we can only see back!
School
Moved to MRH from St. Louis in Nov. '62 so I didn't get to make any early childhood friends. With the current TV craze in "reality shows" I suspect were I to be on the "High School Reunion" show my title would be "The Outsider". Always had the feeling of being on the outside looking in.
College
The years at SMSU were some of the best I've had. With enough money could have easily become a "professional" student.
Workplace
After working in sales for almost 20 yrs got to the point of not looking forward to going to work so I had a "mid-life" crisis and went to truck driving school. Spent a little over 2 years driving over the road and now have settled into driving St. Louis metro area local, which means I get to sleep in my own bed each night & have weekends/holidays at home, usually.
The house
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the whole house inside and out, add on a back deck with a gazebo and built in hot tub. A new garage that ...Expand for more
the boat would fit in would be nice too. Some would say why not just move instead - through the years have felt "at home" here in Maplewood in addition have some very good neighbors!!! My dream home would be on a lake, any lake, Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock Lake would be possibilities. Of course all this would happen just as soon as I win the Powerball jackpot.
Life wish list
Everybody has those things that they would like to be able to do just once. I have 4 - drive a big truck, liked that so well I do that full time for a living - drive a race car, got to do that twice, a NASCAR type car at the track in Madison, IL - fly a plane, got to fly for a VERY short time a WW II fighter trainer in Greenville, IL - and last do a parachute drop, still working on that one, most places have a maximum weight requirement so I still have some pounds to shed to be able to clear my "bucket list". Oh, one more thing, would like to catch a REAL big bass, need one over 10+ pounds to beat a certain MRH allum whose boat I bought and have named for him, R.D.O.B.
