I always had that interest in Medicine, and finally got back to school several years ago. . I went to Nursing School at Riverside Hospital in Newport News and now am a Nurse in the Emergency Room at a Level 2 Trauma Center. I love what I do now , its as cool as being a Medic was, but the pays better and we don't get shot at as often! Sometimes its just like "Life in the ER" on TV....... Lol...... I have a house and currently live in Newport News since 1997 . ;-) Worked in Construction after the Army for many years, eventually being a Framing Carpenter and later a Steel Fitter. Was always drawn to the Medical field and eventually went for additional training as a Phlebotomist and worked at Virgi...Expand for more
nia Blood Services for several years. Attempted to go back to School, but got divorced instead. ;-) Went back into Building Houses and then had an Opportunity to work for UR Labs in Hampton working with Internet Content Filtering Software (PC's and the Web having been hobbies for a long time) and then we were bought by Symantec (of Norton Antivirus & Utilities fame) and worked as a Filtering Content Analyst. Eventually got downsized and went back to building as a Steel Fitter for Riggins Company and worked a variety of interesting jobs, including working on the Wind Tunnels at NASA.
Military
Spent 3 years as a Combat Medic with the 5th Infantry Division stationed out of Ft. Polk, La. 1983-86. OOO-RA!
