Don's Story

I live in Austin now after retiring from the Air Force. Taking a short sabbatical before going into the corporate world. I have been married for 15 years and have 4 wonderful children... and they keep me plenty busy. Background: Born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Houston, TX in 1980. After High School, I went to San Jac to run track. After a year of college, I joined the Air Force. Went to Lowry AFB to learn electronics (applied technology for the F111-D)and was stationed at Cannon AFB, NM. After 3.5 years, I moved to Austin, TX to finish my degree. After getting a commission in the Air National Guard, I returned to the Active Duty life and moved to Houston, TX. After 14 years there, I was sent to El Paso, TX for a short 1.5 years, and then was selected to be the Operations Officer(and later the E...Expand for more
xecutive Officer)for a Task Force of about 250 personnel spread throughout Texas. Well, that is it - in a nutshell (for the most part). Oh, and while I was "livin the life" in Houston and El Paso... I was also a meteorologist (monthly Air National Guard additional responsibility) and eventually became the Commander of the Best Unit in the United States! <-- or at least that is what the award said! Now for the next chapter in my life... I love most sports. I prefer to play them (not watch). My passion is beach volleyball! I also help coach basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Chris Campbell, because we were best friends through High School and college. I lost track of him after that, but I am sure he is doing great!
