Don's Story
Oh My gracious,
where have those ''Glory Days" gone ?
I look in the mirror and Yes, There's a few teeth missing, 80lbs overweight and I'm starting to bald!
So 40yrs of living the "American Dream" can take a toll on a "Seraph".
My life has been filled with laughter and tears.
But it's all Gooooooooood.
Went to Junior College for 3 yrs.
Married, The Girl Next Door.
My first Son was born the same year.
My college education landed me a job in The Dog House. Worked for a Profession Dog Trainer for a few yrs. Than onto a Glass Factory and eventually found my Vocation at the Business end of a 4 Foot Pipe Wrench & 2 ton Chain Block
Worked Industrial Construction in New Jersey and went up and down the ladder of Success.
Raised My family of 5 Wonderful Children with My High School Sweetheart. The same girl I took to the Senior Prom at the Barclay Hotel on May 22 of 68. She's "Still The One" after all these years.
My family has grown up and moved on and have started there own lives. Our Oldest Son is a local Police Officer in our little town. His twin Sister lives in Bermuda and is enjoying the Good Life. Another Son is a Carpenter Contractor and My Youngest Son is finally back in New Jersey and Serving His Country in the U.S. Coast Guard Stationed in Atlantic City.
I'm the Proud Grand Father of 4 Grand Children with another on the way. 3 Beautiful Grand Daughter's and One "All Boy" Grand Son.
I havan't changed much over the years,
Still "Stuck-up", quiet and shy, especially around girls.
With the exception of those Grand Daughters ..... My Wife compl...Expand for more
ains that I won't sing with Her in the car when the Odlies come on the radio.
But I'll sing and make the Coyotes Howl, when I'm with the Grand kids... I'm certainly not shy with them.
No outstanding achievements ... Just a Beer Guzzling Yankees Fan.
Happy sort of............ to be getting close to retirement two yrs or less. Will remain in New Jersey, if we can afford it. Dividing our time out West Jersey and at The Jersey Shore.
Had a few health problems recently..... The Typical One. Way too many "CheeseBurgers and Fries"
Enjoy the Grand kids year round, and the Jersey Shore, Spring Summer and Fall.
Still riding my bike, makes me feel like a kid.
Never Smoked, Drank or did drug's (Didn't inhale ).
Maybe I should have, for I'm still Up-Tight and a Nerd !
Took a yr off from the NYC 5 Boroughs Bike Tour this year but will ride again for my 60th Birthday. Also lookin forward to the Pacific Coast Highway in 2010
Gotta have Dreams !!!!
Still playing in the Dirt too....
Just enjoy growing things and watchin' them Bud out in the Spring time .
Have done a little Travelin', in fact 6 way too many Cruises and a few trips to Europe.
Spread my ashes over Tuscano or Provance and I'll......................... "Rest in Peace"
I'm certain Sister Dolora is "horrafied"... (I know that's not spelled write ).. at my Spelling and Punctuation...but I just don't use Spell Check and at this Time in my life, I am pretty sure I'm in the early stages of "CRS" !
Wish Everyone from my High School Class of "68" Many more Enjoyable & Healthy Years.
