Dona's Story

I started teaching in Vicksburg, MS in 1980. I have taught in Huntsville, Birmingham, and I have been in Meridian for the past 22 years teaching grades 5-8. Alvin Ivey. We were married for 15 years, and he passed away in '04 with colon cancer after a 2 year battle with it. I have 2 stepsons and 3 grandchildren. I don't go to Sylacauga much since my Mom and Stepfather passed away when their home burnt down in the middle of the night. That was in Jan. of '06.
