Arts degree. I was violist in the USC String Quartet during my first year and held orchestral conducting assistantships the next two years. I taught as a "freeway flyer" before starting to teach at Cal Poly Pomona University in 1975. I taught there until 2009.
I have been married twice and have had a wonderful married life with my current wife of 37 years. We have two sons. I continue to stay active in music, gardening, and traveling. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2005 and have maintained an active life in spite of it.
