Donald's Story
I remember going to the Annual Varsity East/West football games cheering for the DTS Redmen. I remember having to swim in the nude in the school pool; the day I locked the teacher out of the classroom portable for a prank; reading hot rod magazines in math class; setting off the school smoke alarm because a buddy and I had a quick smoke in a stairwell. I remember some of the good hard working, dedicated teachers trying to teach us something usefull. My favourite subjects were history, drafting, welding, small engines, automotive, woodworking, print-type setting. I remember driving to school in my da...Expand for more
d's yellow Vauxhall, and later in my '53 chevy hot rod that had a '58 Olds 371 ci motor and driveline. I remember the day Rudi Frech got expelled for pinching off the hose of a bunsen burner while the teacher was trying to perform a test. The 60's was a time when a respectible dress code was in force. Guys wore t-shirts & sweaters or button up shirts with black slacks and either hard soled dress shoes or hush puppies. Wearing jeans was not allowed until 1964. Students who wanted to smoke had to walk at least two blocks away from the school (usually to the Danforth Ave). Good times and good memories.
