Donald E.'s Story

Life My first year of High School was at Salem High School. My next three years were at Salem Vocational High School. I have been in the Electrical Trade my whole life. Have been self employed for 41 years. A great Vocation. I am now happily retired. My Kids Three beautiful daughters and five wonderful grand children,with the help from my lovely wife Fran, to whom I have been married to for 60 years this coming April 7th. School Went to kindergarten at Cogswell School on School Street. Then went to Pickman School 1st - 3rd grade also on School street. Went to Pickering school 4th - 8th grade on North street. Went to High school 1st Year. Went to Vocational High School the next three years and graduated with the class of 1959. I have a picture of the class of 1955 at Pickering School with 61 of us if anyone is interested. It is on a CD and can be sent as an attachment on email. Just let me know. ational High School class of 1959. It has been and interesting and exciting job for me. After working with several company's I went out on my own in 1971 and have been happily employed doing my thing all these years and still am. It has been a great job for me and I like teaching the trade to my helpers so they might enjoy what I have learned as a tradesman. No regrets for sure. Military After Boot Camp I was sent to Davisville RI to Mobile Construction Battalion 8 (MCB-8). We were sent to Mcmurdo Station Antarctica. There I worked with a crew as an electrician, my life's vocation. We were summer support for all of the scientists on the "ice". We accomplished many projects while there, so much so that they sent us back for another 5-month deployment the following year. It was an experience of a lifetime for a kid to be a part of. I will never forget it. I am Emailing someone down there now and it has changed so much since I was there. Would do it all over again if I could.
