Donald's Story
Life
I was born in Rock Island Illinois in 1959. I was all OVER Rock Island county as a child. As a teenager, I went to Rock Island High, but quit in the 11th grade. I left school to join the US Navy in August 1977(San Diego RTC, Company 221). I served three years on USS Koelsch from 1977 to 1980. I did not like the Navy much at that time, since I was a Boatswains Mate 2nd class. So, I got out for a year and was in Navy Reserves (USS Roark FF 1053 out of the reserve unit on the Rock Island Arsenal). I could not find work at all, so I went back in the Navy. 1982 to 1985. I re-enlisted and was allowed to go to C school (C-7 School for IC). After graduating that, I went to Special Boat Unit 12 at NAB Coronado from 1985 until 1990. I got bit by a need-to-do-something-else bug, so I got out of the Navy and joined the Los Angeles Police Department, but still stayed in Navy reserves (where I was assigned to SBU 12 reserves). I am currently working undercover narcotics and really enjoy it. I do miss the camaraderie that came with being in the Navy. I miss my friends that were such a big part of my past. I still have my memories and LOTS of pics. If you want to get a hold of me, contact me anytime, 818 634 0364.
