Donald's Story
Life
Graduated from St. Clement grade school in 1959, Roger Bacon HS in 1963. Spent 4 years in USAF. Worked most of my life in machine tools with four different companies. Have done what it takes to stay employed including field service, management, supervision, technical instruction, computer support, etc. Currently a technical instructor primarily teaching our customers.
Married Debbie in 1976. We have four kids, two boys and two girls. Oldest son spent 5 years in the Army (101st)and two Iraq deployments, now working in private sector and married in 2008. My oldest daughter married in 2007 and works for a bank and hopes to go to law school. Youngest son doing video editing, youngest daughter newly married and working in microbiology. One grand kid and one more on the way.
College
Attended evening school at Xavier University, Cincinnati,OH from 1984 to 1996. Had several breaks in attendance due to demands of jobs, lack of money, and illness. Finally graduated in 1996, followed by my oldest son, 2002, oldest daughter, 2003, and youn...Expand for more

Workplace
Many different employers due to difficult manufacturing environment (shunned by goverenment and society it seems) in this country. 14 years w/ Lodge & Shipley, 3 w/ WCI Machine Tools, 3 w/ Computer Task Group, 3 w/ GE/Martin Marietta, 18 w/ Makino. Work has resulted in my travel to numerous locations including about 40 states (total of 45 visited while working or in military service), 8 or 9 countries, and visiting many different manufacturing facilities. Hope to retire in 2013.
Military
USAF from 8/63 to 7/67. AC&W radar tech, enjoyed the work. Tech school at Keesler in Biloxi, MS, permanent duty with 771st RADRON, Cape Charles, VA for two years. Last year in service spent with 619th TCS, Det. #9, Ban Me Thuot, RVN. Some good memories, some not so good. Met some interesting people, mostly good experiences, learned a lot and have made my living based on what the USAF taught me.
Leisure
Enjoy reading, golf, working around the house and ocassional vacation travel, especially Hilton Head with the family.
