I graduated from the University of Iowa in June of 1969 with a BBA degree in Marketing. I immediately began a 33 year career with Sears, Roebuck and Company which ended in early retirement in 2002. Sears took me to assignments in Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Ohio and Colorado. My Sears career included 13 years in store management with the final six years spent dedicated to managing one of Sears¿ largest stores located just outside of Denver. After leaving Sears, I took a year off gaining my NASD Series 7 license with Edward Jones Investments, finally breaking 80 on a golf course in Arizona, then re-entered retail as a store manager for CompUSA in Westminster, Colorado. I managed the CompUSA store for three years until moving to Appliance Factory Outlet, a regional appliance dealer in Colorado where I was a store manager and district manager. I have two children, Cynde, 36, and Ryan, 33, both graduates of the University of Wyoming with degrees in communications. Cynde and Ryan both reside in the Denver area and both work near the Denver Tech Center at Liberty Media, in marketing and programming. Ryan is married and has two sons, Hadden and Lucas.
In 2003, I married Nancy Ann Schuler. Nancy is originally from Connecticut, She has a son, Greg, and a daughter, Tessa. Greg also has two little boys, Andrew and Thomas. Nancy is a Merchant Services Account Representative with USBank. We travel as often as possible and enjoy our children and grandchildren. I continue to play golf twice a week and I ski the Colorado High County in the winter. I also stay in close contact with several high school and college gymnastics teammates as well as a number of friends from my retail career.
