Donald's Story

Life is a journey, so live it! After graduation, attended Clemson and obtained a B.S. in Microbiology. After stints at MUSC and Emory University, began my career, in earnest, at Westvaco. Left in Spring '87 and headed back to Atlanta working for several Chemical companies in Product Development and R&D. My last position was in Product Development at Ga. Pacific. Left Atlanta in July 2009 and worked for Buckman International in Memphis, TN in a global position. Left in 2014 and accepted a position as a Scientist with Hexion in Diboll, TX. It was here where I ended up with health issues that I'm currently dealing with. Currently "semi retired," do some consulting work. Decided to put my career on pause and focus on me. During my career, I was blessed with traveling globally, culminating with trips to China, Europe, Canada and Central Ame...Expand for more
rica. I was also blessed in becoming an inventor of 6 US and International Patents, the last one being issued in March 2021. Still single, never married with no children. Today, even with the challenges I face, I'm blessed and luckier than most. My father passed in July 1994, my oldest sister in October 2014 and my oldest brother in July 2020 to Covid-19. My mom, middle brother and youngest sister are still living. To me, life has always been a series of peaks and valleys. Naturally, you want to have more of the former vs the latter. One of my passions is collecting art and eclectic ephemera. I have more than 400 items ranging from paintings, sculpture, textiles, books, drawings, you name it. Well, that's me in a nutshell...
