Life After graduation from Centennial Union High School, I enlisted in the United States Army. I chose Airborne Infantry/Ranger; Infantry. I was looking for a mission, not a job, and turned out to be more fun than any thing else the army had to offer at that time. I served twenty-one years; had two tours in Viet Nam where I was wounded twice, had many reassignments to other countries and locals throughout the Pacific Rim and one in Europe. I never stayed any way for more than 18 months. I spent 3 tours as a Drill Sergeant – Fort Ord – Fort Polk – Fort Benning. I moved a lot. When I was in Fort Stewart, I was reclassified and retrained due to my wounds I receive in Viet Nam. For the last five years of my Army career I was working with computers, communications and information technology management, and earned two degrees in Information Technology Sciences. I retired from the U.S. Army in 1985. I was employed by the Department of the Army, at Fort McPherson, Georgia as a Communications Network Security Specialist and Manager since 1989. My wife Susan, who works for the Department of Defense, we both worked a Fort McPherson.
