Donald's Story
Life
Since graduating on my birthday in 1975, I have been many places and done many things. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1979, was an officer in the Army from 1979 until 1984 (Texas and Germany), taught high school in Dallas, TX from 1988-1991, worked as an instructional technologist from 1991-1993 in Tennessee, got my M.S. in Education in 1995, was the Assistant Principal at a high school in eastern Kentucky from 1996-98, taught middle school in Clarksville, Tennessee in 1999 and was a junior high school assistant principal in Hickory, NC for three years. I was divorced in July, 2001. I have three girls 16, 19, and 22 by my first wife. I met my new wife in Russia in 2002 and we were married in April of 2002. We have a ten-year old daughter and are living in San Antonio, Texas. I taught high school English for two years (2006-2008) ...Expand for more
near Houston, Texas. In 2008-2009 I was the principla of Thorndale High School, a small high school outside of Austin. In 2009 we moved to San Antonio, Texas and I became the assistant principal for Hondo High School, about 35 miles south and east of San Antonio. In 2011, I became the principal at Natalia High School, a small high school (295 students) about 25 miles south of San Antonio. I was in Mayfield for a few hours in July, 2012. A lot of changes, but some things remain the same. High school looks about the same as when we moved in in August of 1973. In June of 2014, I accepted a superintendent of schools position, and moved to Conrad, Montana. I completed my doctorate in December of 2014. Montana is a beautiful state and I have a great job.
