Many of you might know that I grew up mainly in Lakewood, WA, but after the 7th grade at Iva Mann Jr. High, I attended Shelton Jr. High for the 8th grade, then three different high schools: Shelton High (62-64), Lakes High (64-65), and North Mason High in Belfair, WA (65-66), from which I graduated. After a brief stint at Olympic College in Bremerton, I enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1966, applied for Officer Candidate School and graduated from the Artillery OCS at Fort SIll, OK, in February, 1968. I was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Artillery. I then pursued a career in the Army, enjoying 20 years of varied assignments in such locales as Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Iran, and India. Just after the midpoint in my career, the Army turned me loose for a year to complete my college degree at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.
