Donna's Story
I have some great memories of my childhood days, at St Monica. I suppose one of my GREATEST memories had to be dancing on the front lawn as Michael, Tito, Jermaine, Randy, and Jackie entertained the ENTIRE neighborhood, from their living room! there was a lady in the neighborhood who sold the best homemade popcorn balls, if my memory serves me correctly I believe they cost a nickel? St. Monica had a girls track team, and we would have our practices at Roosevelt high school's track field, which was directly behind the home of their home. ) had a CLUE as to just how these 5 brothers were going to make music HISTORY!! Oh yeah.. who remembers how the "public" school kids from Garrnet, would wanna come and fight the "catholic" school kids, because of observance of a "saints" day? When we didn't HAVE to attend school? Ooooowee! They couldn't stand that!! for the life of me I cannot remember the lady who made our lunches right there in the basement at the church I can still see her pleasant face.. and her husband worked for the school as well..,he did all the maintenance and janitorial stuff? Does ANYBODY remember this?
